Dr. Shekar at Ivory Dental Care is a certified Invisalign^® provider and has been treating several patients with Invisalign^®.

1. At your first visit, a treatment plan will be mapped out with your goals in mind. Then, impressions and pictures of your teeth will be digitized in order to work with a computerized 3-D image of your teeth.
2. Then, Dr. Shekar will plan your tooth movements throughout your entire treatment timeline. You will be able to see a virtual representation of your teeth before, during, and after completion of the Invisalign^® process.
3. From the doctor’s precise treatment plan, customized personal aligners will be created using sophisticated technology by the Invisalign^® Company, for you to wear at each stage of your treatment and a full set of treatment typically includes 20-40 aligners per arch.
4. Each set of aligners are worn for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss.
5. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position the dentist has prescribed.
6. You will visit Dr. Shekar approximately once every 4-6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.
7. Total treatment time averages 11 months with the average number of aligners worn during treatment between 18 and 30 however would vary between different patients.

• In chair whitening:This procedure is performed during your visit to the dentist at Ivory Dental Centre. It approximately takes 90 minutes and the results are better and faster.
• Take home whitening:Plastic whitening trays will be made from models of your teeth. You will then place a special whitening gel in each tray and wear the trays in your mouth for several hours per day. A significant change in tooth colour is usually seen in around four to six weeks.
